It's Easter Break time so here's a fun post about cool and funky librarians around the US (in the main) .
Unfortunately no law librarians in their list which we find more than odd as it's legal librarians who have the access to the information that in the end
will help us all use information to fight those with the power, money and control and in the end that's much cooler than having the best rioot girlll or manga collection in your library!
Here the link and intro and in the meantime we nominate
Ruth Bird at the Bodleian and why....beause she was one of the first librarians on the planet to understand the future back in the 90's.... and how digital information would come to dominate to corporate and public arena. And since she's taken over at the Bodleian she's modernised the legal library to make
legal research easier and more efficient for all. And all without that trace of a tattoo ( as far as we know!) and without endless self serving fad induced articles for stupid legal blogs like House of Butter !

Face it: most librarians are probably cooler than you. After all, their job is to wrangle books, attract readers, and then get the two together ? one of our own favorite activities. Though for many years, the librarian stereotype was a severe old lady who couldn?t stand excessive noise, the mold has changed (to the extent that even the New York Times has noticed). Now, many librarians are punk-rock agents of social change, complete with tattoos, tech savvy, and new ideas to get books to the people. After the jump, meet just a few of the very coolest librarians alive ? and since we know there are hundreds out there, add your favorite book lender (or yourself) in the comments.
