Thanks as always to one of our spies in the cab  who forwarded us the following information.

Ten new management positions in the new TR PLC set up .. it seems they are just waiting for UK regulatory clearance before it all goes ahead

Here’s the internal memo that went out this week.

Dear Colleagues,

Today I am pleased to able to tell you about the people who are going to help me lead our new combined organisation following regulatory clearance from the UK competition authorities. This note also explains what happens between now and when we receive regulatory clearance and what will happen from a people perspective immediately after we have the decision from the UK competition authorities.

The new leadership team
Over the last few weeks we have had an internal selection and interview process to choose the people who will form the leadership team for the combined organisation. Everyone I met during this process has a tremendous amount to offer and the decisions were not easy. The new leadership team post regulatory clearance is:

Jonathan Beak

Jonathan joined Thomson Reuters, via the acquisition of World-Check where he was General Counsel. Jonathan also acted as business leader of the World-Check integration.

Teri Hawksworth and I have agreed that following clearance by the UK competition authorities she will continue to assist me with the integration of the businesses over the next few months, before taking on a new opportunity with Thomson Reuters. I would like to thank Teri for her tremendous support since we announced the acquisition; the insight, experience and knowledge which she has so generously shared have been invaluable, and I am enormously grateful. I know Teri will be greatly missed having successfully led first the Sales & Marketing organisation, and then UKI Core Legal business overall. During the coming months Teri is going to continue to work with me as part of the Transition Team focused on Sales & Customer Experience; her expertise and leadership is very important in continuing to help us bring together our two organisations successfully.

Once we have received regulatory clearance we will work closely with those existing leadership team members who have not been appointed at this stage to clarify their roles in the newly combined organisation going forwards. There are a number of new faces on the leadership team, however I know that one of the first things each of the new leadership team will do once they take up their roles will be to really get to know their new worlds and every individual on the team.

What happens between now and when we achieve regulatory clearance?
Right now we are asking both our existing leadership teams, whether appointed into the new leadership team or not, to continue to lead their respective parts of PLC and the UKI Core Legal business ensuring that we don?t lose sight of what we need to deliver for our customers, subscribers and partners. Both organisations provide very valuable and critical service, products and support; it is important that we don?t let down the businesses and people relying on us.
We will continue to operate as two separate companies, according to the Hold Separate arrangements until such time as we receive regulatory clearance. We will not be making any further announcements about our organisational structure during this period; this will happen after regulatory clearance.
We all appreciate that this transition causes a degree of uncertainty. The Transition Team and I will continue to plan during this interim period to ensure that we are in a position to make the organisation and people decisions effectively and quickly as soon as we have the formal go-ahead. I would encourage you to talk with your managers and leaders about any concerns you may have about the transition and to use the transition sites on your respective intranets.
What happens in the immediate weeks following the UK competition authorities? decision?

Once we have received regulatory clearance we can finalise and implement our plans to bring the two businesses together successfully. Following clearance there should not be any significant changes in the day-to-day roles for the majority of people although, as the details are developed there may be new opportunities. Clearly, if any employee is affected by changes as the implementation proceeds we will speak to them individually and in detail about the implications.

The most important thing for all of us throughout this process will be to continue to deliver an excellent service to our customers and partners. I am hugely grateful for everyone’s commitment, hard work and enthusiasm and I look forward to delivering on the potential of our combined business.
