Chambers & Partners Ban Drinking Journos Print E-mail
Written by Sean Hocking
Thankyou Roll On Friday..  The managing editor at UK legal directory publishing company... has banned her journalists from attending law firm booze fests.

ROF reports

Fiona Boxall, Managing Editor at legal publisher Chambers and Partners, had disappointing news for her staff on Monday. It seems that Chambers' staff cannot be trusted to behave in the presence of free alcohol, and accordingly law firm parties are now off limits:

Here's the email she penned:

A number of you may have recently received an invitation to the Lovells Press Party. Those who have been in previous years will I am sure agree it is a great event. Unfortunately I am going to be a party pooper.

The feedback I have received in the past couple of years concerning press parties has shown that we get no benefit from them, on the contrary the inability of some researchers to restrain themselves when offered copious amounts of alcohol has led to me receiving a number of negative comments.

Sorry, no party.
