In May 2002, Joy created her blawg, "excited utterances", not just to chronicle the world of legal technology, knowledge management and professional training in legal domains, but also to explore the complicated sociological and psychological aspects of implementing KM in international law firms. After obtaining her JD from Temple University School of Law in 1986, Joy worked a few years as a prosecutor in New York, before changing her career path to pursue law publishing. In 2002, while working for an international law firm, Joy discovered the world of knowledge management and has been hooked on it ever since.
