BIALL Legal Reference Course 2018

Booking is now open for the BIALL Legal Reference Materials course. It will be held at the Bodleian Law Library, University of Oxford on Friday, 27th July.

The aim of the course is to introduce the structure of law in the UK and use of key legal information sources. The one day course covers theory of the English legal system, legislation and case law, and practical legal research experience.  The focus is on the law of England and Wales, but some consideration is given to the devolved nations.  (BIALL offers separate courses on European Union Law and Foreign and International Law).  This course is intended for recent entrants to law librarianship, and for those working in more general libraries which have legal materials, and it is suitable for both librarians and library assistants.

The course fee is £120 + VAT for BIALL members and £160 + VAT for non-members. The price includes course materials, lunch and refreshments.
