Los Angeles based firm, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, has announced new office openings in Sydney and Hong Kong. The Sydney office is expected to open next month, while the Hong Kong office is still pending regulatory approval.
Assuming they get the green light for the Hong Kong office, it will take Quinn Emanuel?s offices in the Asia Pacific region to three, following their Tokyo base. Managing partner John Quinn, described by the Los Angeles Daily Journal as a "legal titan" said "we have been planning the opening of another office in Asia for some time, and of course we would like this to be in Hong Kong".
The heavyweight litigation firm currently has over 600 lawyers largely based across the US and boasts a 90% success rate on its website. However not all its lawyers seem happy, as a third of its London office resigned last year.
The firm has previously been described in US press as "Better. Faster. Tougher. Scarier". Hong Kong and Sydney: you have been warned.
