LAS VEGAS — Google Glass is not yet widely available, but a Las Vegas man is using the technology like no one else.

In one second, an industrial accident changed everything for Gary Verrazono. He can tell you about his challenges and see them from your viewpoint. But thanks to a special pilot program called “Glass Action,” you can live every moment through his eyes.

“Almost two years ago in June I was at a racetrack and a forklift fell on top of me while I was working,” Verrazono said. He lost his leg and arm in the accident. Simple tasks like getting a drink of tea out of the refrigerator have become a chore.

But thanks to the invention of Google Glass, the high-tech specs can record his every move.

“They’ll be able to see what I see,” he said. “I can show it through my eyes.” Including his progress at physical therapy. “OK, Glass, record to video.” Or a challenge he faces every day — tying his shoe.

But when you see it from Gary’s vantage point, it adds a new perspective.

“Google Glass in unbelievable,” said attorney Marc Lamber, whose law firm came up with the “Glass Action” idea. “What it can show the world is what Gary lives with every single day.”

Lamber said the technology could end up providing key evidence for a jury in his accident case. “They’re going to experience Gary’s world.”

Verrazono admits it’s a long process, but the hope is Google Glass can help take the thought of “seeing is believing” one step further.

Google Glass is also helping attorneys communicate with their clients. For example, Gary can pull up and view legal documents about his case using the glasses.

The law firm of Fennemore Craig Jones Vargas has been recognized as a leader for their use of technology — one that they say is the wave of the future.
