Agribusiness To Sue Sum of Us.com Over Save The Bee Campaign

I know this is completely off topic but it makes me wonder what sort of world we live in when bees are less important than pesticides and we’d love to know which law firm hates Bees so much that they’d rather load their pockets with agribusiness cash rather than help out the planet’s pollinators. I presume their children aren’t allowed to eat honey…

I refer to AA Milne…

“Well,” said Pooh, “what I like best,” and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn’t know what it was called.”

A major corporate agribusiness firm has threatened to sue SumOfUs unless we stop our campaign to save the bees. Will you make a monthly donation of $5 to make sure we have the resources for what could be a long, drawn-out legal fight?

Sean,

We’ve just received a letter from a major corporate agribusiness firm threatening legal action unless we stop our campaign to save the bees.

The letter came from a contractor for Bayer, one of the biggest producers of bee-killing pesticides in the world — which means we could be facing a long, drawn-out legal fight against corporations with incredibly deep pockets.

After talking it over, we’re clear. There’s no way we’re going to stop working to save the bees.

But now we’re counting on you, our members, to stand with us in this difficult moment. Will you make a monthly donation of $5 to help make sure we have the resources to mount any needed legal defense and redouble our efforts to save the bees?

Yes, I’ll chip in $5 a month to stand up to corporate bullies and save the bees.

No, but I can make a one-time donation.

Monthly giving is the best way to support SumOfUs because it lets us plan more actions into the future. Plus, you can change or stop your monthly donation at any time.

The reason corporations are threatening us with lawsuits is that our campaign is working.

The European Union has issued a moratorium on bee-killing pesticides. Ontario is about to become the first state or province in North America to restrict their use as well. And major garden store chains like Home Depot and Lowe’s are still feeling the pressure of our campaign to stop selling bee-killing pesticides altogether.

Most of all, the public is waking up to the threat to the bees — and how important they are to agriculture as pollinators.

That’s why companies making money from bee-killing pesticides are trying to silence us.

We’re not going to allow them to bully us. But facing a potentially long, drawn-out lawsuit from corporate agribusiness, we need to be prepared for the worst. Will you chip in $5 to make sure we’re prepared for the legal fights to come?

Yes, I’ll chip in $5 a month to stand up to corporate bullies and save the bees.

No, but I can make a one-time donation.

Thanks for all you do,
Paul and the team at SumOfUs
